The heaviest animal at Expo Paraguay is Brahman
November 3, 2016In an exciting Brahman breed judging contest at Expocruz 2016, Ketin FIV, an imposing 35-month-old bull from the Los Buhos ranch, won the coveted title of Grand Champion. Under the watchful eye of international judges, 71 specimens competed in this event that rigorously evaluated aspects such as muscle conformation, bone structure, and other essential attributes for meat production. This outstanding competence reflects the modern focus on genetic improvement to enhance efficiency in meat production.
Fernando Baldomar, general manager of the Bolivian Association of Zebu Breeders (Asocebú), emphasized the relevance of this evaluation process, highlighting its alignment with contemporary trends aimed at increasing meat production. The second place, awarded to Mr. Bix FIV from the Santa Ana cabin as Reserve Grand Champion, underlines the high level of competitiveness and quality of the specimens presented in this prestigious exhibition.
Likewise, in the female category, the Santa Ana cabin shone with Miss Lapataia 2098 obtaining first place, closely followed by Miss Madame Jinka in second place. These awards highlight the consistency and genetic excellence of the breeding of the Brahman breed exhibited at Expocruz 2016. The contest continues, with expectations rising for the next judging of the Nelore and Nelore Mocho breeds, as well as anticipation for the milk production contest with the Gyr and Girolando breeds.
