July 5, 2022The Caá Cupé cabin highlights the contribution of the Brahman to livestock farming in Northern Argentina
The Caá Cupé cabin was the scene of an outstanding day where the community of the Brahman Breeders Association of Argentina met with local producers to witness the rodeos of this breed. Raúl Romero Feris Jr., host of the event, highlighted the contribution of the Brahman to regional livestock, highlighting its role in improving quality and productivity in the North of the country.
The meeting, framed in the 20th National Brahman Exhibition in Riachuelo, Corrientes, focused on exhibiting the herds of this breed, highlighting the crucial contribution that Brahman breeders can offer to increase meat production in a large area of the country. These cattle have been fundamental in Northern Argentina, particularly in the Chaco, strengthening widespread breeds such as Brangus and Braford, and expanding the livestock frontier in the country.
With the evolution of agriculture and the displacement of livestock farming towards more challenging areas in terms of climate and forage production, the Brahman emerges as an essential tool to achieve sustainable livestock production, both as a pure breed or in crosses. Currently, there are 52 purebred herds in Argentina distributed in seven provinces, consolidating the presence and relevance of the Brahman in national livestock.
