June 24, 2022Brahman Conference at Ekka, Brisbane
July 11, 2022With a notable participation of breeders from various parts of the NEA, the 2022 edition of the 28th Pro to Pro Auction was successfully carried out in Gobernador Virasoro. In the midst of economic uncertainty, the event attracted a crowd interested in the offering of bulls and bellies from recognized cabins such as La Higuera, San Vicente, Las Marías, Don José, Tavé Retá and San Alejo. The sale of breeding stock, mainly of the red Brangus breed, stood out for its agility and the more than satisfactory prices obtained.
The firms UMC SA and Haciendas Villaguay, together with Compañía Misionera de Haciendas y Ganadera Aguapey, led the auction with the hammer, consolidating the reputation of these cabins for their high-quality genetics. Despite the economic uncertainty, the results were positive, demonstrating the strength of the livestock sector and the continuous commitment of producers in the development of the business. The auction, which also had virtual monitoring through Canal Rural and streaming, offered payment facilities with a term of up to 120 days and free shipping for elite bulls and bellies.
Victor Navajas, owner of Las Marías cabin, expressed his satisfaction with the support and prices obtained, highlighting the firmness and determination of livestock producers in the face of adverse economic conditions. With the destination of the sold breeders dispersed in several provinces of the country, the Pro a Pro made clear the sustained interest in improving the genetics of livestock in the region. For those who could not participate, a new joint auction was announced in September, during the Mercosur Rural Exhibition, with a similar offer of bulls and bellies from the participating cabins.
